How does your research contribute to a better world?

"Over the years, I have been involved in many Swedish academic drug discovery projects on behalf of the SciLifeLab Drug Discovery and Development platform. Most of them aim to develop a novel drug treatment for a variety of diseases, indications most of which need intensive healthcare and significantly affect the life of patients, e.g. cancer, diabetes and Alzheimer’s disease.

Through collaboration within the Innovative Medicine Imitative (IMI), European Gram Negative AntiBacterial Engine (ENABLE), my research contributes to development of new antibiotics against gram-negative bacteria and thus, to overcome the antimicrobial resistance (AMR). Currently, the AMR is one of the major public health threat. Thus, contribution to the activities and these projects will decrease health threats for human population and improve the life quality of patients, as well as decrease the healthcare costs."
