Controlling knowledge assets

This is the second of three seminars in the postgraduate course Strategic Management of Research Results.

Once your knowledge assets have been identified, the next step is to look at how they can be controlled. We will start with an overview of the most common forms of intellectual property protection (patent, trademark, copyright and design), after which you will be given the opportunity to delve into the forms of protection that are most relevant to your own field of research. We will go through ownership of research results and factors that affect ownership. Linked to this, we will conclude with an introduction to agreements that gives you the basics of what is important to keep in mind when ownership, among other things, is to be regulated through agreements.
