Gunilla Lundmark new CEO of Uppsala University Holding Company
On 1 September, Gunilla Lundmark will take office as CEO of Uppsala University Holding Company (UU Holding), where she succeeds Lars Jonsson. She most recently served as CEO of Pharmanest AB.
Lundmark has held leading positions in the life science sector for more than 25 years. As CEO of Pharmanest AB she successfully developed the business from the idea stage to commercialisation. Before her time at Pharmanest she was Vice President of Q-Med AB.
Her roles in companies and on governing boards have given Lundmark broad experience of knowledge-intensive companies and a thorough knowledge of Uppsala’s business sector. In 2014 she was awarded the BiotechBuilder Prize by the Swedish life science industry.
Lundmark lives in Uppsala and will take up her new position on 1 September. She replaces Lars Jonsson, who has been CEO of UU Holding since its launch in 1998.
“I look forward to the task of leading UU Holding into the future,” says Lundmark. “It is stimulating to be involved and support the whole process from ideas to finished products and services.”
“We are very pleased to have recruited Gunilla Lundmark as CEO,” says Henrik Didner, chair of the board of UU Holding. “Her knowledge and experience will be a great advantage in further developing activities.”
UU Holding is a state-owned company that commercialises research findings at Uppsala University and has a portfolio of around 50 companies. The holding company is part of Uppsala University’s innovation system, cooperating closely with Uppsala University Innovation, Uppsala Innovation Centre and the Foundation for Collaboration between the Universities in Uppsala, Business, and the Public Sector.
